Justin played/competed in many sports growing up to include Football, Track, Soccer, Cross Country, Cheer Leading, and most importantly Wrestling but it wasn't until he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as an Infantryman that he learned the meaning of "functional" fitness. Once Justin finished his service he obtained a degree in Marketing from Georgia Southern University and upon graduation delved head first into corporate America and soon came to understand that it was not for him. He decided to get back in shape and go back to serving his country, but due to hearing loss suffered in his first enlistment, that wasn't an option. This desire to get back into shape did lead Justin to CrossFit and he hasn't looked back since. He got his CrosFit Level 1 Certification in January of 2010, and with Eddie Looney opened CrossFit Coweta in September of that same year. He continues to learn and grow as a coach and athlete, having since earned a CrossFit Gymnastics Certification and successfully competing in many local and regional competitions. His endless desire to bring fitness to the masses is only matched by his never ending supply of energy.
Karen earned her CrossFit Level 1 Certification in 2012. Prior to CrossFit Karen was a competitive gymnast for over ten years and then continued to coach in the sport for an additional five years. This provided her with a tremendous amount of knowledge with the core function of many movements often found in Crossfit and experience coaching children of all ages. While attending Georgia Southern University, Karen studied Exercise Science in the Health and Kinesiology Department for three years. Karen is married to Justin and they have two children, Camden and Abbie, that are both active in CrossFit!
